This idea was inspired by firstly collections inspired by designer Luly Yang, in particular her elegant, wonderful Koi and Ocean dresses, both made with beautiful materials and amazing textile skills. Recently I had also had lunch with a friend at a local garden centre where there was an incredible Aquatic centre. Inside, there was an abundance of bright, colourful sea life, and I captured a lot of images on my phone. Using primary and secondary research I drew and painted the fish and background the background inspired by Acrylic pours.

The fish were painted as individual elements, and scanned in at high resolution to be cut out and arranged in photoshop. Lastly I printed the design onto natural linen and began to embellish using sustainable sequins, unwanted silk threads and unused glass beads. I have used various embroidery skills and stitches such as Satin and whip stitch, star stitch and French knots.
